This past weekend Nicole Richie and Joel Madden made a dash for the border, no she wasn’t running away from police but the couple was going on an impromtu vacation.
The couple landed in Puerto Vallarta and were qucikly photographed in the airport and a little while later at a beachside bar enjoying some drinks under the sun.

Reports have started to surface that back in December Nicole Richie hired a Shaman because she believes all the horrible things that happened in 2006 were as a result of someone in her social circle’s “hexing her” with some sort of unlucky curse.
Determind to put an end to the spell, Nicole paid a witch doctor approximately $1000 to spiritually cleanse her apartment, a source close to Nicole told Life & Style Magazine that the witch doctor burned sage while chanting and dancing in every room in her apartment, a procedure with took about 2 full hours!
The same source says “She’s very superstitious and believes in this stuff. It’s a very personal thing for Nicole. [She] believes in curses but would never put one on anyone, not even her worst enemy.”

My Thoughts:
As much as I love Nicole Richie this comes across to me as a simple case of not owning up to your own actions, I probably would take it more seriously if the problems she faced in 2006 weren’t so obviously brought on by her own decisions.. That being said I also think its wrong for our current society to allow papparzzi to legalally exist as a profession.
How many times do we see a video of Nicole going shopping or out for dinner with her friends and right behind her is a pack of photographers snapping pictures of every thing she does, do we really need that much information about her life?

Some lucky photographers snapped some shots of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden celebrating on New Years Eve at the Ghostbar in the Palms hotel in LA.
While Joel was nice enough to spin some music for party goers at the bar the couple still made time for each other and were snapped for the first time publically showing affection for each other as they played tonsil hockey for much of the night.

A source close to Hilary Duff recently told Us Weekly, ”(Duff) can’t believe he’s dating Nicole and thinks she’s a skank.”
Apparently when Hilary heard about Nicole Richie’s arrest and confession to taking Vicodin and smoking pot she was upset, the source saying “she asked if Nicole had been coming from Joel’s. ... She kept saying she never knew Joel at all.”

Lionel Richie, Nicoles father, in a recent interview told reporters that he never wanted Nicole to become a singer saying “She has done the fame thing is reverse. Normally you need a hit record or movie to become a personality. She started as a personality and now she understands what I go through. When she decided to take up music I thought, ‘Urgh, she moving into singing”.
He continued saying “I keep telling her, ‘why would you want to go singing?’ It’s funny when they choose the same occupation as you.”
Most recently Nicole worked with her father on the music video for his hit song “I call it love” playing the part of a rich girl who falls for a poor waiter.

According to TMZ.com Nicole Richie has a penchant for gravy fries as on December 21st she was spotted at Johnny Rockets along side Nicky Hilton chowing down on gravy friends, hamburger and a milkshake.
While at the restaurant 2 children approached her, asking if she could pose with them in a photograph. According to witnesses Nicole repeatedly told the older of the 2 kids to give the middle finger to his fathers camera when they posed.

After Nicole Richie’s recent arrest by the LAPD for DUI her father Lionel reportedly asked her if there was anything he could do to help.
The Mirror reports that one of there sources said “He wanted to let Nicole know that if she needed anything like counselling, more rehab, he would be happy to help her. Nicole confessed that the only thing she could think of that would help her right now was a chauffeur.”
Apparently after his own wild youth Lionel doesn’t feel he has the right to lecture Nicole for her behavior.

Recently Danny Bonaduce, an actor himself, made some rather harsh comments directed at Nicole Richie and fellow party girl Lindsay Lohan, claiming they are part of a generation of party girls all racing to see who can become the most damaged.
Danny himself has had a number of drug problems and even starred in his own reality tv show called “Breaking Bonaduce” in which the actor tried to overcome his addictions.
